I am a NASM certified personal trainer with 25 years in the fitness industry and over time I have seen how even very fit and active people eventually reach the point of decreased functional movement patterns from overcompensation due to muscle imbalances, altered range of motion (ROM) and poor flexibility. Once we reach middle age, it becomes harder for our body to maintain correct posture, stability, stamina and metabolic rate as muscle mass and strength naturally diminish every few years. Therefore, I focus on functional movement and emphasize the appropriate strength and conditioning program to get to or maintain an active lifestyle so we can improve longevity and independence throughout our aging years. While our ideas of what an active lifestyle means can be very different from person to person, we all want to enjoy vitality and pain free movement as our lifespans increase. This requires maintaining cardiovascular health, range of motion, flexibility, strength, stability, and stamina.

Health and wellness includes more than just exercise.
